Based out of Huntsville, Alabama, the Allen Watkins Band is a powerhouse group seamlessly weaving together the acoustic drive of bluegrass, the deep soul of the blues and the gritty edge of rock. They have crafted a distinct roots-driven sonic identity that is entirely their own.  Refusing to be boxed into a single genre, they blend storytelling and rich acoustic instrumentation into a high energy live experience. 

On August 1, the band is set to release a new album of all-original music.  The record explores a broad spectrum of the  human condition, tackling everything from historical 1890's immigration narratives to triumphant victories over dark personal struggles.  Whether they are tearing through a blistering rock riff or stripping it down to a soulful groove, Allen Watkins Band delivers an unforgettable story-driven performance that resonates long after the final note. 

Anchoring the lyrical acoustic tapestry is an elite line up of veteran musicians. Nationally acclaimed touring artist and three-time Alabama State Champion for finger-style guitar, Allen Watkins brings a legendary pedigree to the group. Having shared stages with bluegrass royalty like the Lonesome River Band and Claire Lynch, and having recorded alongside bluegrass greats Tony Rice and Mark Johnson, his intricate guitar work forms the bedrock of the band's sound.  Along with Allen, at the heart of the band's storytelling, is singer-songwriter Connie Watkins, whose evocative lyricism drives compelling narrative themes, shifting effortlessly from historical tales to raw, modern stories. Her writing was previously showcased on the streaming EP Dakotah Landing.  Locking down the groove is Joe Parker, who leverages nearly 40 years of bass-playing experience to inject a sophisticated jazz and blues influence into the rhythm section. The acoustic foundation is expanded by Garrett Smith, a classically trained violinist who has performed with the Huntsville Symphony and various Celtic ensembles, infusing the music with lively genre-blending fiddle and mandolin stylings.
