The Allen Watkins Band is a regional acoustic Americana group based in the Huntsville/Tennessee Valley area of Alabama. They perform original acoustic music and covers with diverse influences spanning bluegrass, jazz, blues, country, folk and Celtic music.
A new album, "Coming Home" is set for release on August 1, 2026, with all original music. The band is featured on Blast Music and in the October 2025 Madison Living Magazine.
The band consists of four members. Allen Watkins is a nationally acclaimed touring artist and three-time Alabama State Champion for finger-style guitar. He has played with renowned bluegrass acts like the Lonesome River Band and Claire Lynch, and has recorded with bluegrass greats Tony Rice and Mark Johnson. Connie Nicholas Watkins is a singer-songwriter whose original EP "Dakotah Landing" is available on iTunes. Joe Parker brings a jazz and blues influence to the band's acoustic foundation, with nearly 40 years of bass playing experience. Garrett Smith is a classically trained violinist who has played with the Huntsville Symphony and various Celtic music groups. He brings lively fiddle and mandolin stylings to the band's music.
